Teachers who abused students can now be fined

Today, a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place. A draft law aimed at improving the system of social protection of children was considered.

According to the draft law, amendments and additions are being made to Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, establishing administrative liability for the commission of cases of violence against a child in the process of upbringing and education by a person entrusted with the duties of raising and educating children in an educational organization.

The National Revival Party has put forward proposals for certain clauses of this draft law, taking into account the circumstances arising from a different interpretation of this provision.

The deputies adopted this proposal of the Democratic Party "Milliy Tiklanish."

That is, if a teacher does not insult, humiliate, or physically abuse a child, they will not be held accountable. Criteria such as psychological pressure and lack of care, which could be interpreted differently, were removed from the edits.

The following issues were also discussed at today's meeting

Notaries are obligated to submit to the "Inson" social service centers information on the authenticity of the signature in the application for adoption, guardianship or trusteeship of the child.

It is established that if a guardian or trustee intends to change their place of residence, including moving to another country, the written permission of the guardianship and trusteeship body and the consent of the child who has reached the age of 10 under guardianship are required. The participation of a representative of the "Inson" social service centers in the work on reducing the amount of alimony levied from parents or one of them in favor of a child left without parental care is determined.

At the same time, the territorial subdivisions of the National Agency for Social Protection are exempt from paying the state duty on applications submitted for the recovery of additional expenses for the restoration of the child's health and rehabilitation in favor of the child from parents or persons deprived of parental rights.

It is also proposed to exempt an orphan or a child deprived of parental care from paying the state duty when registering at the place of residence of the guardian (trustee) or foster parents.

The draft law was adopted by the deputies and sent to the Senate.
