The Ministry included the requirement for a B2 certificate for foreign language teachers in the qualification requirements.

On January 13 of this year, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education signed Order No. 9 "On Amendments and Additions to the Qualification Characteristics of the Main Positions of Employees of General Secondary Education Schools (boarding schools)."

This order establishes a mandatory requirement for foreign language specialists to hold a national or equivalent international certificate of at least the B2 level.

In fact, this procedure was established by the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated May 19, 2021, but the ministry did not include it in the qualification requirement for foreign language teachers.

From now on, specialists in foreign language fields will be required to have a national or equivalent international certificate of at least the B2 level.

According to the order signed by Deputy Minister Sherzod Karimov, employees of general education schools (boarding schools) must be fully familiarized with the new qualification characteristics, and directors must ensure strict compliance with these qualification characteristics when hiring employees and transferring them to other positions.

Most importantly, the Minister of Preschool and School Education, the heads of the departments of preschool and school education of the regions and the city of Tashkent, and the heads of the departments of preschool and school education of districts (cities) should take measures to formalize the relevant documents with employees who do not meet the qualification requirements in accordance with the current labor legislation.

It should be recalled that the Ministry provided an opportunity until the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year to teachers who do not have a national or equivalent international B2 certificate.
