3 thousand dollars for the position of school principal

The head of the department of preschool and school education was detained for accepting a bribe of 3 thousand dollars for the appointment of a teacher to the position of director. A preventive measure of detention was applied to him, and a criminal case was initiated. This was reported by the State Security Service.

Employees of the Tashkent City Department of the State Security Service, in cooperation with the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, conducted an operational event.

During the event, the head of the Department of Preschool and School Education of one of the districts of Tashkent was detained with material evidence while receiving 3 thousand US dollars in his office in exchange for appointing a history teacher to the position of director of one of the schools in this district.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against this official under Article 210 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of detention has been applied.

It should be recalled that since 2023, by the relevant order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education, an advisory body for the appointment of directors of general secondary educational institutions - the Board of Directors - has been created.

By order of the Minister, it was determined that the appointment of directors in the preschool and school education system will be carried out on the basis of an open competition based on the recommendation of the "Council of Directors."
