Andijan schoolgirl wins gold medal at International Olympiad

Ibragimova Rayyona, a 10th-grade student of school No. 4 in Andijan, won the gold medal for the first time at the International German Language Olympiad, which was held on July 15-22 in Göttingen, Germany, where more than 100 talented young people from 62 countries of the world took part.

This Olympiad will invite about 13 million students studying German in schools around the world to compete. More than 100 German language learners aged 14 to 17 participated initially in the national qualifying round in more than 60 participating countries, and the high-performing students went to Göttingen in July 2024 for the International German Olympiad.

Also, seminars on didactic and methodological topics were organized within the framework of the Olympiad in Göttingen for active teachers accompanying students.

The winners of the national qualification stages will compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in three different language levels. This requires not only language knowledge, but also intercultural competence and the ability to work in international groups.

The individual and team results of the participants were evaluated by an international jury.
