Russian schools may close - Azerbaijan

Russian-language schools in Azerbaijan may be gradually closed. Some parents reported receiving notifications about this in WhatsApp groups associated with schools. This was reported by the Qalampir.uz publication.
The publication, citing a report published on "Oxu.az," writes that Russian-language schools will be gradually closed, and this decision was made to strengthen the position of the Azerbaijani language as the main language of instruction and integrate all citizens into a single educational environment.
According to the data, in the next three years, education in Russian-language schools will be transferred to the Azerbaijani language, in the process of which retraining courses for teachers will be organized.
Currently, an inquiry has been sent to the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan on this issue. At the moment, an official explanation is expected.
It should be recalled that earlier, the leader of the "Milliy Tiklanish" party of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Alisher Kadyrov, proposed to reduce the number of "Russian schools" in Uzbekistan.
At that time, the party leader proposed to legalize the norm on the teaching of primary education in the native language in Uzbekistan and said that these issues would be discussed at the upcoming faction meetings.
