School principal sentenced to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking

The school principal and her accomplice were caught red-handed while attempting to sell approximately 1 kg of opium to a conditional buyer for $12,000. This was reported by Kun.uz.

The director, previously convicted of fraud, was sentenced to a long prison term.

In the Urgut district of the Samarkand region, the director of a school involved in drug trafficking and his accomplice were brought to justice. Kun.uz reviewed the court document.

According to the court verdict, F.Kh., born in 1986, worked as the director of secondary school No. 71 of the Urgut district. In early August 2024, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with his neighbor Sh.A. to sell a large quantity of opium narcotics in the Samarkand region.

According to the criminal plan, Sh.A. received about 1 kg of opium from a person whose identity could not be established during the investigation, on the condition that he would give it after selling the money. Then, on November 27, 2024, the accomplices were detained while attempting to sell the drug to a conditional buyer involved in an operational event by law enforcement officers for 12 thousand US dollars. One opium drug wrapped in a black cellophane bag was seized as material evidence. Its weight was 921.36 grams.

F.Kh. partially admitted his guilt in court and said that he had found opium at the request of an acquaintance working in the district department of preschool and school education, and he was not interested in it. The director, expressing remorse for his actions, asked the court for leniency.

Sh.A. also partially admitted his guilt and stated that F.Kh. agreed to his wife's request and found her a drug because she said she would hire him.

By the court verdict, F.Kh. and Sh.A. were found guilty of committing a crime under part 5 of Article 25, 273 of the Criminal Code (Illegal sale of narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances in large quantities). F.Kh. was sentenced to 10 years and 2 months, Sh.A. - to 11 years of imprisonment.
