What medical certificates are needed to admit a child to the 1st grade?

Adaptation of a child admitted to the 1st grade of a general education school to the learning process is the main stage of education. In this case, their physical and mental health is of great importance.

Therefore, parents are required to provide several medical certificates when enrolling their children in school.

So, which ones are they?

Dilobar Hidoyatova, the chief pediatrician of the Tashkent City Health Department, answered this question in detail.

"On September 23, 2020, amendments were made to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education," according to which the age of admission to the 1st grade of general education schools is set at 7 years," says the specialist.

If the child went to a preschool educational institution, they undergo regular medical examinations by specialists of the regional family polyclinic during the kindergarten period, and a medical certificate of form 026, confirming their health, is submitted to the admissions committee.

However, if the child did not go to kindergarten, according to the relevant order of the Ministry of Health dated July 27, 2022, a medical examination will be conducted by a specialist in a narrow field, such as a dentist, endocrinologist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, speech therapist, psychoneurologist, and family doctor, based on a referral from the regional family polyclinic to obtain a medical certificate of form 026.

Total blood and urine are collected, and laboratory tests against worms are taken three times.

In addition, according to the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar, a medical certificate of form 063 is required for vaccination against viral hepatitis B, tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, rotavirus infection, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Hib infection, measles, mumps, and pneumococcal infection.
