I am a high-category physical education teacher. I submitted an application to participate in the extraordinary attestation for the 70 percent bonus, the minister's fund, and the title of "Teacher of the Year."

After that, I took the test, but didn't get a high score. Although I participated in the practical exam, I didn't participate in the second stage because I didn't have enough points for the above selections.

Now our vice-principal says that because you applied for the certification and did not fully participate in it, your current highest category will be destroyed. Is this true?

According to the Regulation approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 572 dated September 17, 2021, the certification process for physical education teachers is organized in two stages, the first stage is in the form of tests conducted by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, and the second stage is in the form of a practical exam organized by the Ministry of Sports in sports schools.

In this case, teachers who have a higher or first qualification category in physical education and meet the relevant requirements will participate in the "Teacher of the Year" competition based on the results of the first stage of certification tests.

In this case, the teacher must score the highest score to apply for the "Teacher of the Year" and the minister's bonus. To receive a 70% bonus, you need to score 86 points or higher.

In the above situation, the teacher with the highest category applied for an extraordinary attestation and did not participate in the next stage of the attestation, not believing that he would not be able to score enough points in the first stage.

According to paragraph 44 of the Regulation, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 572 dated September 17, 2021, in the event that pedagogical personnel involved in the extraordinary certification do not pass the certification, their qualification category (position) is not reduced and they are not considered unfit for their position.

Even if a teacher does not fully participate in the certification process, their current highest qualification category will not be lost. Because they are considered to have submitted an application to participate in the extraordinary attestation.
