A collection of George Byron's works, taken from a school library in the English county of Cumbria, was returned to the school 113 years later. According to the Guardian, the book was purchased by a reader named Leonard Jubank.
This student was born in 1893, graduated from school in 1911, and subsequently entered Queen's College, Oxford. Four years later, despite his poor eyesight, Jubank was taken to the war and was killed by a bullet in the head on February 23, 1916.
Leonard Jubank is recognized in the school's heroic list as "the best, honest and loyal Englishman."
"A book taken from the school library before the First World War finally returned to its place after a century and more than ten years," the report said.
It is noted that it may be one of the "most delayed" library books in the world.
