At the session of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies on August 12, the possibility of launching school buses in the capital was discussed. This was reported by Gazeta.uz.

One of the meeting participants noted that traffic on the city streets has significantly decreased since May 25, and parents stopped taking their children to school after the end of the school year.

In a number of countries, there is a system where school buses or buses take students from a strictly designated area. According to him, if 20−30 children come to school in one bus, this means that there will be 20−30 fewer cars on the roads.

"According to the demographic situation, the number of students and schools is growing. "We need to talk about this with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and work together," he said.

According to Elmurod Alimov, Deputy Head of the Road Safety Department of the Main Department of Internal Affairs, this issue has been studied, but there are difficulties in its implementation.

"Now people come to Tashkent schools from the Tashkent region. If there are 15 districts, they will come from there as well. It's impossible. They will bring their children from the nearest Tashkent district to Yunusabad district. Everyone is trying to get into the capital's schools, so it will be difficult to gather children from one area. "We will study this proposal," - said the representative of the Road Safety Department.
