"186 schools were temporarily suspended due to violations of sanitary requirements" - Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee
Today, May 22, a briefing was held with the participation of the head of the information service of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee, Maftuna Saidova.
At the briefing, information was disclosed on the analysis of compliance with sanitary rules, norms, and hygiene standards in educational institutions.
According to the report, regional departments of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee conducted scheduled inspections in 3,295 general education schools during the first four months of 2025.
During the tests, a total of 41,976 samples were taken for chemical analysis. Of these, 1,988 did not meet the requirements, and out of 7,327 samples for bacteriological analysis, 527 did not meet the requirements of sanitary rules and regulations.
During the monitoring of the proper and safe organization of students' nutrition, 227 samples of finished food products were taken for microbiological indicators, of which 2 and 126 samples of drinking water out of 2,872 were found to be non-compliant with the requirements.
Administrative measures, i.e., fines, were applied to officials who committed violations of sanitary rules in general education schools in 2,157 cases.
The activities of 186 institutions have been temporarily suspended. 973 employees were temporarily suspended from work due to untimely medical examinations.
Approximately 18,470 kilograms of food products were brokered. (Products with expired expiration dates, poor quality, or hazardous to health were distributed to buyers, stores, or other retail networks through intermediaries (brokers).)
At a meeting chaired by the President, it was noted that 35-40 percent of infectious diseases occur due to non-compliance with basic hygiene rules.
It was noted that every social institution must be clean and tidy, and comfortable sanitary and hygienic conditions must be created for people. A government resolution was also adopted on measures to implement the "Clean Hands" program, aimed at expanding drinking water and sanitary-hygienic infrastructure in healthcare and educational institutions.
Within the framework of this program, healthcare and educational institutions will be provided with sufficient sanitary and hygiene products. Measures will also be taken to improve the infrastructure of drinking water supply and sanitary facilities.
They are placed inside the building. Promotional work is carried out among the population, including children, on the formation and observance of personal hygiene habits.
Handwashing facilities in educational and medical organizations will be fully equipped with sanitary and hygiene products. In 126 schools with difficult conditions, restrooms will be located inside buildings and rebuilt.
More than 6,000 kindergartens will be provided with solar collectors. 4,295 social institutions will be equipped with water tanks and cisterns.
This year alone, 780 billion soums will be allocated from the state budget for these purposes. Sanitary and hygiene facilities in educational institutions in all regions will be thoroughly inspected.
Based on the assessment results, measures will be taken to bring sanitary and hygiene facilities deemed unsatisfactory into full compliance with sanitary requirements.
Regional departments of preschool and school education, district and city departments are responsible for the timely and full implementation of this program.
"The goal is to prevent infectious diseases and intestinal infections among the population, to raise the level of sanitary culture, and to improve the nutrition, recreation, and working conditions of the population," the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee said at a briefing.
