Information about the spread of a viral disease among children has been denied.
Reports were published on social networks about the spread of an infection among children, similar to seasonal acute respiratory viral diseases, but with symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting. The Ministry of Health has issued an official statement regarding the situation.
It is reported that acute respiratory viral infections transmitted through airborne droplets are seasonal in nature, and the incidence rate increases somewhat with a decrease in temperature in autumn.
"According to observations, the beginning of the cold season usually falls at the end of August and September. This year, however, this period began somewhat later - in the last 10 days of October. That is, this is not at all an unusual situation, as they say on social networks," the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
It is noted that sometimes respiratory symptoms are accompanied by coughing, sneezing, burning in the nose, and fever, while in some patients, they manifest as gastrointestinal disorders. This means that these diseases do not always progress uniformly, and this situation is related to the strains of the virus.
"Another important aspect should not be forgotten. Simultaneous outbreaks of bacterial and viral infections are not observed. That is, in the world of microorganisms, there is such a process that one does not allow the reproduction of the other," the ministry explained.
The Ministry explained that it is completely inappropriate to assess the outbreak of seasonal respiratory diseases as a coronavirus mutation. Moreover, to date, COVID-19 has become a common respiratory infection. Currently, the coronavirus situation in Uzbekistan is stable.
It is known that a special headquarters has been created in the Ministry of Health, which includes representatives of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health, scientists in the field, system officials, as well as specialists responsible for the protection of motherhood and childhood from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent and the regions.
The Ministry recommended that parents take their children with symptoms of the disease to a family doctor in a timely manner, reminding that the epidemiological situation in Uzbekistan is stable and there is no cause for concern.
