Tajikistan also wants to ban social networks for children
Member of Parliament of Tajikistan, Dilnoza Ahmadzoda, proposed a complete ban on the use of social networks by children under 14 years of age and strict control over the use of social networks by adolescents. His proposal on this matter was published in the publication "Narodnaya Gazeta," the Qalampir.uz editorial office reported.
According to the deputy, this year the government of the country made some changes to the law on the protection of children's rights regarding false and harmful information. Nevertheless, in his opinion, it is necessary to introduce other amendments to the law to control the use of social networks by children and adolescents.
According to Ahmadzoda's proposal, minors under 14 should be strictly prohibited from accessing social networks, and adolescents aged 14 to 17 can only use them with the written consent of their parents.
However, experts believe that a complete ban on the use of social networks will not solve the problem. In their opinion, regulation and control of access will be more effective than a complete ban.
For reference: In recent years, a number of countries - such as South Korea, the Netherlands, Australia, Norway, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia - have introduced rules restricting the use of social networks and prohibiting the use of mobile phones by children and adolescents.
