Deputies of the Legislative Chamber, Sayyora Imamova and Kozim Tojiyev, sent a parliamentary inquiry to the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Ezoza Karimova, regarding expanding access to higher education for young people and the state of schools in Nurata.

It is known that only holders of national or international certificates at the B2 level have the right to apply to fields of study in which a foreign language is defined as the first subject in the set of subjects.

It is also envisaged that holders of this certificate will be awarded the maximum score for all bachelor's degree programs in which the subject of a foreign language is included in the complex of test examinations (professional (creative) exam) without examinations in this subject.

In practice, the majority of school graduates (including attendance in additional classes) master foreign languages (English, Russian, French, German, etc.) at the B1 level, which is lower than the requirements for university admission.

According to the data, the remaining vacancies within the general admission parameters for full-time education in universities amounted to 19,279, of which about 1,000 are in the fields of philology and language teaching, theory and practice of translation, as well as foreign language and literature.

Deputy of the Legislative Chamber Sayyora Imamova sent a "deputy inquiry" to the Minister of Preschool and School Education Ezoza Karimova regarding the proportionality of the level of foreign language instruction in general education institutions to the requirements for admission to universities and the solution of this issue in the interests of young people.

Deputy of the Legislative Chamber Kozim Tojiyev sent two "deputy inquiries" regarding schools in the Nurota district of the Navoi region.

In the first survey, it was noted that 12 schools in the Nurata district have 18 complete classrooms, in which a total of 247 students study. These schools are mainly located in remote, mountainous, and desert areas, and the number of students does not reach the established norm.

As a result, 2 different classes (for example, I and III, II and IV) are forced to study together in one classroom. Parents and teachers noted that this situation negatively affects the assimilation of subjects by first-graders.

In the second request, it is stated that the list approved by the relevant government decree of 2019 provides for a special allowance for teachers from other regions working in schools in the "Qadok" and "Qizilcha" mahallas of the Nurata district.

However, in 2022-2023, new mahallas were created on the territory of the "Qadok" mahalla under the name "Buston," and in the "Qizilcha" mahalla under the name "Tinchlik." As a result, 6 schools were transferred to the territory of new mahallas.

Due to the fact that new mahallas are not included in the list of government decisions, teachers working in mahallas are not paid a special bonus.

The deputy asked the ministry to study these issues and take appropriate measures.

From now on, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education will have to provide relevant information within 10 days in response to the request of the deputies of the Legislative Chamber.
