Teachers caught taking $25,000 from teachers for certification

A "bunker" organized by officials working in the education system was uncovered in Namangan.

It was established that the deputy director of a general secondary school in the Davlatabad district of the Namangan region, the head of a department of the Namangan State Technical University, a specialist of this department, and others, in collusion, assisted pedagogical workers remotely through a "bunker" in the process of passing tests within the framework of the certification exams for determining qualification categories in exchange for material benefits.

During a joint operation conducted by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes in Namangan, an apartment used as a bunker was inspected.

As a result, it was established that there were 12 teachers involved in solving the test questions at this address, and a laptop, 30 different types of hearing aids and hidden cameras, 8 "Wi-Fi" routers and other items were seized as material evidence.

During the pre-investigation check, convincing the deputy director of the school and others to resolve the exam results positively, they demanded 1300-1500 US dollars from a certain number of teachers in the region, and in September-October of this year, they collected 25 thousand US dollars.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "b" and Article 28, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.

It turned out that the deputy director of the general secondary school of Davlatabad district and the citizen, born in 2001, who operated the "bunker," were previously held liable for committing the same crime.

It should be recalled that earlier in Karakalpakstan, persons who received $1000-1500 in exchange for the certification of more than 100 teachers were also detained.
