On the eve of the New Year, teachers will rest for 5 consecutive days, and students - for 14 days.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a decree on the establishment of additional non-working days and the postponement of weekends during the celebration of official dates in 2026.
According to the decree, in 2025 for all employees (regardless of the type of work week) December 31 - Wednesday;
In 2026, for all employees (regardless of the type of work week): January 2 - Friday, for employees with a six-day work week: January 3 - Saturday are designated as non-working days.
So, the holidays are set as follows
- December 31 (Wednesday);
- January 1 (Thursday);
- January 2 (Friday);
- January 3 (Saturday);
- January 4 (Sunday).
Schoolchildren will have 14 days off
Winter holidays for schoolchildren begin on December 28 (for elementary grades 1-4 - from Saturday, December 27). Vacation will last until January 10, 2026 (14 calendar days).
Since Sunday, January 11, 2026, falls on a non-working day, classes in the third quarter will begin on January 12, 2026.
