The head of public education and directors who played gambling were fined.

In the Ulug'nor district of the Andijan region, six education workers were arrested while gambling in a teahouse and brought to administrative responsibility. This was reported by Daryo.uz.

According to court documents, among them were the head of the district Department of Preschool and School Education, his deputy, and four school principals.

The document states that gambling was detected on January 14, 2026, at the "Abdukhalil ota" teahouse in the Balikchi district. Someone reported gambling in a teahouse to the internal affairs bodies. Then an officer of the Department of Internal Affairs came there regarding the report. 205 thousand soums during the game, a total of 617 thousand soums with the participants, and cards were taken as evidence.

The defendants stated in court that they did not gamble and played cards without betting money. He stated that the 205,000 soums on the table were funds collected for food. However, based on witness testimony and the collected evidence, the court deemed the offense confirmed.

As a result, the defendants were found guilty under Article 191 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. By court decision, each offender was fined three times the base calculation amount (1 million 236 thousand soums).

Of the 822,000 soums held in the deposit account of the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs as material evidence, 205,000 soums were confiscated for the benefit of the state.
