Some positions in schools have been reduced

Earlier, we reported that some positions in educational institutions might be reduced. On August 30, 2024, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, signed Order No. 288.

This order introduces amendments and additions to the standard staffing of managerial, technical service, and teaching support personnel in general education institutions under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education system.

According to the order, the following positions are being reduced in educational institutions:

• Librarian position

From now on, there will only be a staff unit for "Library Manager." The "Librarian" staff unit will not be established until the number of classes reaches 16. Additionally, even if the number of classes is 30 or more, the "Librarian" staff unit will not be added.

In specialized boarding schools of a sanatorium type and specialized boarding schools with in-depth study of certain subjects, 1 staff unit for "Library Manager" is assigned for 2 to 20 classes. Consequently, the "Librarian" staff unit in schools of this type has been eliminated.

The "Librarian" staff unit has also been eliminated in specialized boarding schools for children with physical or mental disabilities and in Republican educational institutions.

• Psychologist position

In general secondary schools, specialized schools with in-depth study of certain subjects, specialized boarding schools of the sanatorium type, specialized boarding schools with in-depth study of certain subjects, and state specialized boarding schools for children with physical or mental disabilities, the position of psychologist has been reduced.

It has been decided to allocate 1 staff unit for a psychologist when the student population is 1,500, and 2 staff units when the student population exceeds 1,500.

For reference: According to the previous procedure, when the number of students was between 1,500 and 2,000, the position of psychologist was allocated 2.5 staff units, and when it was 2,000 or more, 3 staff units were allocated.

• Laboratory Assistant position

The position of laboratory assistant has been completely eliminated in general secondary schools, specialized schools with in-depth study of certain subjects, specialized boarding schools of a sanatorium type, state specialized boarding schools for children with physical or mental disabilities, specialized boarding schools with in-depth study of certain subjects, and Republican educational institutions.

Now, in schools with laboratory rooms, one physics or chemistry teacher will receive an additional monthly payment of 50 percent of the minimum wage (525,000 soums) for managing the laboratory.

It should be noted that earlier, the proposal to reduce some positions in educational institutions included the position of Deputy Director for Spiritual and Educational Affairs, Methodist for organizing healthy nutrition in general secondary educational institutions, as well as positions of employees in the centralized financial and accounting service.
