The khokim of the Sharaf-Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region, Makhmud Kholbutayev, was detained by the State Security Service officers while receiving a bribe of 10 thousand US dollars from a businessman in exchange for obtaining permission to build a multi-story building on the land allocated for a school. This was reported by Oyina.uz, citing a source from the State Security Service.
It was revealed that the chief specialist of the Sharaf-Rashidov district administration promised the head of a construction company to allocate land for the construction of a multi-story residential building in the district and demanded $30,000 in return.
On July 5 of this year, the chief specialist took 10 thousand US dollars from the requested amount and gave it to the district khokim. On July 8, he will receive the remaining $20,000 from the entrepreneur.
By the relevant decision of the district khokim, the entrepreneur will be provided with documents permitting the construction of 8 multi-story buildings on 1.7 hectares of land allocated for the construction of a general secondary school building in the Tokchilik neighborhood.
Then, when the chief specialist handed over $10,000 to the district governor in front of the hokimiyat building, the SSS officers stopped their illegal actions.
Currently, the khokim of Sharaf-Rashidov district has been deprived of parliamentary immunity, and a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 210 of the Criminal Code, and against the chief specialist under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code.
