Is wearing national clothing mandatory in the capital's schools?

It is known that in order to widely promote nationality in Tashkent, the khokim of the capital Shavkat Umurzakov signed a decree "On additional measures to widely promote nationality in the city of Tashkent" on January 21.

Following the decision of the capital's governor to promote nationalism, teachers and students began to be forced to wear national costumes in schools.

Parents, school teachers and students, who contacted Daryo, said that they are required to come every Friday in national jackets and skullcaps.

Interestingly, the decision of Shavkat Umurzakov does not provide for educational institutions among the organizations recommended to wear national costumes.

"We expect an explanation from the Ministry of School and Preschool Education on the situation," Daryo said in a statement.
