A new Olympiad will be organized for students, and the winners will be admitted to study on a grant basis.

A Presidential Decree "On Measures to Implement the Tasks Defined in the Open Dialogue of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Youth" has been signed.

According to the decree, based on the experience of the Almazar district, engineering laboratories will be created in at least one school in each district (city) of the republic, which will be provided with the necessary equipment.

Also, Olympiads in the field of engineering and invention will be organized among students, and the winning graduates will be admitted to study in state higher educational institutions on the basis of an additional state grant without exams in fields of education corresponding to the Olympiad direction.

The Ministry of Preschool and School Education, together with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, shall, within two months, submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft normative legal act providing for the organization of this Olympiad and the list of areas of higher education in which its winners will be admitted to study on the basis of an additional state grant.

By this decree, the amount of remuneration paid to winners of international subject Olympiads has been increased fivefold.

Now, winners of prestigious international Olympiads and their teachers and mentors will be awarded one-time monetary prizes in the following amounts of the Basic Calculated Value (BCV):

• 1st place (gold medal) - 2,500 times (937 million 500 thousand soums);

• Teacher - 450 times (153 million soums);

• Head of the national team - 35 times (11 million 900 thousand soums)

• 2nd place (silver medal) - 1,500 times (562 million 500 thousand soums);

• Teacher - 250 times (85 million soums);

• Head of the national team - 25 times (8 million 500 thousand soums)

• 3rd place (bronze medal) - 1000 times (375 million soums);

• Teacher - 150 times (51 million soums);

• Head of the national team - 15 times (5 million 100 thousand soums).

Earlier, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 30, 2024, No. PP-346, cash prizes and gifts paid to students, their teachers, and the heads of national teams who have won at the regional and republican stages of the main subject Olympiads, as well as international Olympiads, were exempt from income tax.

Also, starting from January 1, 2025, a procedure for incentivizing the heads of national teams participating in prestigious international olympiads based on the team's results will be introduced, and the heads of national teams will be awarded a one-time monetary reward in the amount of 35, 25, and 15 times the basic calculated value for each gold, silver, and bronze medal won at prestigious international olympiads.
