It was noted that the changes in education have had a positive impact on Uzbekistan's position in the international ranking.

According to the recently published Sustainable Development Report 2025, Uzbekistan ranked 62nd out of 193 countries and was recognized globally in the Sustainable Development Goals indicator.
The report assesses the extent to which countries have achieved the Sustainable Development Goals. This ranking includes 17 areas and 169 tasks defined by the United Nations, including quality education.
It became known that in the "Sustainable Development Report 2025" rating, Uzbekistan rose 19 positions compared to 2024 and was noted as one of the fastest-growing countries in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region.
Among the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, indicators related to the quality of education are also important.
Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, there are several key indicators related to education.
- Primary education enrollment rate (2024): 99.4% - means that almost all children go to school.
- Secondary education completion rate (2023): 95.6% - this indicator is also growing year by year.
- Youth literacy (2022): 100% - full literacy of the population aged 15-24.
- Preschool enrollment rate (2022): 65.9% - there are shortcomings in this regard, and some problems with preschool enrollment are indicated.
The report also notes that Uzbekistan's government spending on education is 8% of GDP. This figure was considered a positive result compared to many countries.
Uzbekistan also showed relatively stable results in terms of equality of educational opportunities for girls and boys, gender differences in participation in secondary and higher education.
Several factors in the field of education also contributed to Uzbekistan's rise in the "Sustainable Development Report 2025" ranking. Gulnora Abduvakhidova, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, also noted this in her article.
In his opinion, the "School Development" program was adopted, and special attention was paid to teaching foreign languages. The knowledge assessment system of Presidential and specialized schools has been implemented in an additional 1000 general secondary educational institutions, and at the same time, work on its implementation in other schools is consistently continuing.
Higher education coverage increased from 9% in 2017 to 42% by 2025. Within the framework of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy, it is planned to increase the level of youth enrollment in higher education to at least 50 percent.
