The decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to improve the system of continuous professional development of employees of preschool and school education organizations" was adopted.
According to it, from January 1, 2025, in order to ensure the continuity of the professional development of pedagogues and specialist personnel, the "Professional Development Hour" will be held in all general secondary educational institutions, and in basic general secondary educational institutions, also forms such as "Professional Development Day" will be gradually introduced.
In order to organize the "Professional Development Hour" and "Professional Development Day" events, a team of mentor-teachers will be formed among highly qualified teachers in each district (city).
As part of the "Professional Development Hour", teachers' lessons are analyzed by science method associations and mentor-teachers, they are provided with methodical support, and recommendations are given on professional development.
As part of the "Professional Development Day", basic general secondary educational institutions are selected for each subject, and training sessions on professional development for teachers are held in these institutions.
Special training courses for mentor-teachers are organized in the National Institute of Pedagogical Skills named after A. Avloni (newly established) and regional centers.
Science teachers working as mentor-teachers are paid an additional monthly bonus in the amount of 20% of the position salary from the principal's fund of the general secondary educational institution, which is the main place of work.
The Ministry of Preschool and School Education approves the procedure for holding the "Professional Development Hour" and "Professional Development Day" events within two months.
According to the source of Xalqtaliminfo.uz, the following days of the week can be designated as "Professional development days" for teachers:
Monday – Science of exact sciences (mathematics, informatics and information technologies); Tuesday – Philological subjects (Mother language and literature, Uzbek language/Russian language); Wednesday – Natural sciences (physics and astronomy, chemistry, biology, geography and economics, natural science (Science); Thursday – Social sciences (history, state and legal foundations, education); Friday – Foreign languages; Saturday – Applied sciences and elementary internal education (fine arts, drawing, music culture, technology, physical education, pre-vocational training, primary education).
We remind you that by the order of the former Minister of Public Education Bakhtiyor Saidov dated December 5, 2022 No. 372, the procedure for holding methodical days and science months of teachers was canceled.
We reported earlier that the practice of methodical days is expected to be re-introduced.
