How to organize the "Day of Professional Development"? Ministry provided information
Today, a press conference was held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Presidential Administration on the activities of the "Day of Professional Development" and "Hour of Professional Development" for teachers of general education schools.
It was attended by responsible employees of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the National Institute of Pedagogical Mastery named after Abdulla Avloni.
At the press conference, it was noted that in accordance with the relevant order of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education dated August 7, 2024, starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, the events "Day of Professional Development" and "Hour of Professional Development" will be gradually introduced for teachers of general secondary education institutions in the context of subjects.
According to which:
- Monday - for teachers of social sciences (history, foundations of state and law, education);
- Tuesday - for teachers of philology (native language and literature, Uzbek/Russian);
- Wednesday - for teachers of natural sciences (physics and astronomy, chemistry, biology, geography and economics, natural science - Science);
- Thursday - for teachers of exact sciences (mathematics, computer science and information technology);
- Friday - for foreign language teachers;
- Saturday - "Day of Professional Development" and "Hour of Professional Development" events will be organized for teachers of applied sciences (fine arts, drawing, musical culture, technology, physical education, pre-conscription initial training) and primary education.
At these events, subject teachers working as mentors-teachers are paid an additional monthly bonus in the amount of 20 percent of their official salary at the expense of the director's fund of the general secondary educational institution, which is their main place of work.
Leading teachers of general secondary education institutions will be involved in the "Days of Professional Development" events in the context of subjects. Professional development days are a working day for teachers of relevant subjects, primarily participating in professional development activities.
During the "Day of Professional Development" and "Hour of Professional Development" events, teachers of relevant subjects are not involved in classes and other activities in schools.

How will the 20% bonus be paid to teachers of science working as mentors-teachers?
Mentors-teachers will be appointed from among qualified teachers in the context of subjects, and they will be paid an additional monthly bonus of 20 percent.
According to the decision, this procedure will come into force in January 2025.
A procedure for stimulating mentors-teachers by allocating allowances at the expense of the relevant fund has been developed. There will be no problem in this matter.
If the teacher receives a 40% bonus from the director's fund, then another 20% bonus will be paid to the mentor-teacher.
How to determine the attendance of teachers on the "Day of Professional Development"?
This platform has another opportunity where each school director has the opportunity to monitor the status of teachers' professional development.
We are further developing this platform. In other words, the platform is being improved in accordance with the events of the "Day of Professional Development." Therefore, the participation of teachers in the "Day of Professional Development" event will be recorded on the platform.
Will teachers who have mentored newly hired students be paid additional salaries?
Of course, this procedure will not be canceled. These procedures are also taken into account in the process of developing the "Days of Professional Development" program.
Will all teachers be involved in the "Days of Professional Development" events?
We want to encourage leading teachers. In this case, an experienced active teacher will be selected who will participate in the "Days of Professional Development" events and be responsible for organizing the "Hour of Professional Development" events in the section of subjects (or subject blocks) in general education schools.
For example, if there are 10 teachers in the field of exact sciences, only one of them will be involved in the "Day of Professional Development" event.
At the event that day, the remaining teachers will be told what they will do according to the program. At the same time, a program will be developed, dedicated to the analysis, discussion of shortcomings, and their elimination through mutual lessons.
We want to create this environment in the school itself by bringing in a leading teacher, rather than bringing a large number of teachers to basic schools.
The event also discussed the activities of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education in cooperation with the Singaporean organization "Marshall Cavendish Education" to improve the qualifications of teachers and organize classes using modern methods.
At these master classes, organized in a cascade manner and involving about 2,000 teachers, school principals, mathematics and natural science teachers learned new knowledge and skills from qualified coach specialists, and exchanged experience.
During the classes, topics such as digitalization of education, increasing the potential of teachers, leadership in education, and the widespread use of modern technologies were discussed.
Views were expressed on improving the qualifications of school leaders and teachers based on the experience of Singapore, as well as exchanging best practices for their professional development. In particular, a dialogue was held on the widespread use of artificial intelligence in assessing and developing students' knowledge and skills, as well as on the digitalization of education.
These training sessions are planned to be organized on August 19-22 this year in districts (cities), and on August 26-29 at the level of general education schools.
