91 medals: Science Olympians of Uzbekistan are true heroes!
We usually boast a lot about our achievements in sports leagues, and almost everyone talks about it. So, what is Uzbekistan's position in the world academic ranking?
If we analyze the achievements of Uzbek students in various Olympiads between 2021 and 2024, we can observe a multiple increase in the number of medals. During this period, our students demonstrated even higher results in prestigious competitions and contributed to enhancing Uzbekistan's prestige on the international stage.
For example, in the 2021/2022 academic year, students won a total of 45 medals at prestigious international and regional Olympiads, in the 2022/2023 academic year - 69 medals, and in the 2023/2024 academic year - 91 medals.
Below, we will introduce in detail the results of students at the prestigious international Olympiads held in the 2023/2024 academic year.
65th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO)
More than 600 talented young people from 110 countries of the world took part in this Olympiad. The Olympics were held in Bath, United Kingdom. At this Olympiad, our students won 5 medals (2 silver and 3 bronze).
For reference: Only 1 national team from each country is allowed to participate in these Olympiads.

About 400 students from 80 countries of the world took part in this Olympiad. The Olympics were held in Isfahan, Iran. At this Olympiad, the students of our country won 1 bronze medal.

56th International Chemical Olympiad (IChO)
It was attended by 340 students from 87 countries of the world. The Olympics were held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Young and talented students of our country also took part in this Olympiad and won 4 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze).

20th International Youth Olympiad in Natural Sciences
This Olympiad was held from 1 to 10 December 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. At this international Olympiad, 308 talented students from 56 countries tested their knowledge in chemistry, biology and physics. In it, Uzbek students won 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.

The Olympiad was held from January 7 to 13, 2024, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was attended by 680 students from 16 countries of the world (286 students in mathematics, 194 students in physics, 200 students in computer science).
In this Olympiad, our students won 14 medals (2 gold, 3 silver and 9 bronze).

The Olympiad was held in Adygea, Russian Federation, from March 11 to 16, 2024. At the Olympiad, 4 of our students won 4 medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze).

28th Balkan Junior Math Olympiad
A total of 135 talented young people from foreign countries took part in the 28th Balkan Mathematics Olympiad among teenagers held in Antalya, Turkey, on June 25-30, 2024. According to the final results of the Olympiad, Uzbek students won 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.

International Economics Olympiad
The Olympiad was held from July 22 to 31, 2024, in Hong Kong, China. More than 250 gifted students from 52 countries took part in it. At the International Economic Olympiad, our student won 1 bronze medal.

International Math Competition
This competition was held in India from 26 to 31 July 2024. The 32 students who participated in it won 18 medals (3 gold, 4 silver and 11 bronze).

Al-Khwarizmi International Olympiad of Young Mathematicians
This international Olympiad was organized on May 26-31, 2024 in the specialized school named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi in Tashkent among students aged 14-15. Uzbek schoolchildren won 2 gold, 13 silver, 15 bronze, a total of 30 medals.
