Now, students from grades 5-8 are preparing for international Olympiads

Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further improve the system of work with talented youth" (No. PP-346) was adopted

According to the decision, starting from January 1, 2025, the Center for Science Olympiads (Center) will be established under the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions in the form of a state institution.

One of the main areas of activity of the Center is the identification and selection of talented and interested young people for in-depth study of subjects, the creation of necessary conditions for the further development of their talent.

Starting from 2025, the Center shall:

• A database of gifted students who have achieved high results in the Olympiads among students in grades 5-8 will be formed and their targeted preparation for international Olympiads will be established;

• educational programs, literature, methodological recommendations, manuals and journals are created for each subject area;

• necessary conditions are created for the continuous professional development of trainers-teachers preparing students for subject Olympiads, they are trained in new methods;

• the practice of holding joint training camps of national teams for subject Olympiads with national teams of foreign countries will be established;

• seminars and motivational trainings on overcoming mental stress are organized for students at international Olympiads;

• "intellectual camps" will be organized for talented youth.

Monetary prizes and prizes awarded to the winners of scientific Olympiads are exempt from income tax.

According to the decision, from January 1, 2025:

• the procedure for encouraging the leaders of national teams participating in prestigious international Olympiads will be introduced depending on the team's results;

• students, their teachers and the heads of national teams who won the regional and republican stages of the main subject Olympiads and international Olympiads are exempt from income tax.

Until December 1, 2025:

• an electronic platform will be created that will allow for constant statistics of the results of international and local subject Olympiads, organization and conduct of online subject Olympiads, as well as the formation of a database of participants in Olympiads;

• A special website will be launched, which will publish information about the international subject Olympiads named after great scientists, which will be held in Uzbekistan, and provide registration for local and foreign students to participate in these Olympiads.

Also, in accordance with this decision:

• in the direction of fostering a sense of interethnic harmony and tolerance, strengthening cultural and educational ties - the International Olympiad of the Great Eastern Renaissance;

• in the field of mathematics and computer science - the Al-Khwarizmi Youth Turkic Olympiad;

• in the field of chemistry - the International Chemistry Olympiad named after Abu Rayhan Beruni;

• in the field of physics - the International Physics Olympiad named after Ahmad al-Fergani;

• in the field of biology - the International Biological Olympiad named after Abu Ali Ibn Sina.
