From now on, schools will be equipped by voting in the "My School" project

Within the framework of the "My School" project, students of grades 5-11 will be able to get necessary school supplies, such as electronic boards, computers, sports equipment, books.
A resolution of the Senate Council of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures to implement the project "My school" was signed.
According to this decision, in the 2024-2025 academic year, the project "My School" will be implemented in general education schools as a pilot project. At the same time, starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education will allocate funds 150 times the amount of the base calculation in the cost estimate of district (city) preschool and school education departments for 2025 in order to implement the "My School" project in all general education schools.
Within the framework of these funds, students of grades 5-11 will be able to purchase necessary school goods, such as electronic boards, computers, sports equipment, books.
The "My School" project is a process that includes the formation of projects based on the opinions of schoolchildren on the "Open Budget" information portal, their selection, the identification of winning projects through voting, as well as their financing and implementation at the expense of budget funds.
This project is similar to OpenBudget, where project proposals are formed based on the opinions of students in grades 5-11. That is, they will be able to offer projects for the equipment of the general education school where they are studying (purchasing necessary goods for the school, such as electronic boards, computers, sports equipment, books) or for the implementation of construction and repair work.
Only students in grades 5-11 of the school can participate in the "My School" project. In this case, students will have the opportunity to submit a project or vote only for the school where they are studying.
The processes of the "My School" project will be carried out through the openbudget.uz portal. In this case, the Portal's web page and mobile application are equally powerful. At the same time, in order to create convenience for students, the Portal's capabilities can be provided through social networks through "web3" technology.
The "My School" project is carried out in the following stages:
- preparation of class teachers for the project;
- the formation of projects by students;
- selection of projects by the working commission;
- voting for projects that have passed the selection;
- identification and implementation of winning projects;
- acceptance of completed projects for use on the basis of public control.
During their classroom hours, class teachers explain to students the essence and content of the "My School" project, as well as the conditions and rules for participation. It also provides practical assistance to students in submitting projects to the Portal.
In this process, students develop skills in working in groups by organizing various interesting activities for the formation of projects. In the annual process, each student will have the opportunity to promote only one project for the school where they are studying.
What will be the outcome of the voting stage?
Projects for each school are sorted from top to bottom based on the number of votes collected. In this case, one or more projects with the highest number of votes will be automatically recognized as winners by Rortal within the funds available in the Fund.
Among projects with equal number of votes, the project with the highest number of votes is automatically selected. The winning projects for each school will be announced simultaneously through the Portal.
After the winners are determined, the remaining funds formed in the Fund will be directed to cover the additional difference required in connection with the clarification of the final cost of the projects recognized as winners, or to the processes of the "My School" project held next year.
When the cost of the winning projects is clarified and there is a need for additional funds, funds can be redistributed within the funds of the Fund on the basis of the relevant order of the district (city) department of preschool and school education.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, the "My School" project will be tested in the following districts (cities)
- Kegeyli District, Republic of Karakalpakstan
- Andijan region, Boston district
- Vobkent District, Bukhara Region
- Jizzakh region, Arnasay district
- Kashkadarya region, Dekhkanabad district
- Tomdi district, Navoi region
- Mingbulak District, Namangan Region
- Samarkand region, Koshrabat district
- Surkhandarya region, Bandikhan district
- Syrdarya region, Sardoba district
- Tashkent region, Buka district
- Fergana region, Sokh district
- Yangiarik district, Khorezm region
- Tashkent city, Shaykhantakhur district.
It should be recalled that the current season of the "My School" project is scheduled for December. Starting today, the first stage of this project has been launched.
