During operational activities conducted jointly by the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two unemployed citizens aged 21 and 43 were exposed for organizing illegal religious studies.


In particular, a 21-year-old citizen taught religious lessons to 31 children in one of the apartments in the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region, and a 43-year-old citizen taught religious lessons to 12 minors in one of the apartments in the Tashkent district.


These individuals, who carried out illegal activities, as well as parents who did not fulfill their obligations to raise children, were punished in accordance with the procedure established by law.


For reference: According to Article 23 of the Law "On Guarantees of the Rights of the Child," illegal involvement in religious education means the transfer of a child for religious education to unregistered or unlicensed organizations or to persons who do not have special religious education and carry out religious education without the permission of the central governing body of religious organizations in the Republic of Uzbekistan.


According to part 3 of Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, unlawful involvement of a child in religious education by parents or persons replacing them - entails the imposition of a fine from five to ten times the basic calculated value.


Commission of an offense provided for in part three of this article, repeatedly within a year after the application of an administrative penalty, - entails the imposition of a fine from ten to fifteen basic calculated values or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days.
