From the new academic year, lawyers will also be allowed to teach at school.

Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, persons with a bachelor's degree in the fields of "Jurisprudence" and "State and Public Administration" will be allowed to teach the subject "Fundamentals of State and Law" in general education schools without undergoing retraining courses.

This is stipulated by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 26, 2025, No. UP-232 "On Measures for Further Reforming Legal Education and Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan."

Also, this Decree establishes the use of visual (comic) content on topics aimed at forming the legal awareness of students within the framework of the subject "Upbringing" in grades 5-7 of general education schools.

Starting from the new academic year, a procedure for organizing a test to assess the level of knowledge in the subject of law and issuing a state-standard certificate based on its results will also be introduced.
