According to the draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026," in 2026 it is planned to allocate 1 trillion 985 billion soums for school textbooks, or 53 percent more than in 2025.

For example, in 2024, a total of 1.5 trillion soums were allocated from the State budget for the delivery of 83.2 million copies of textbooks and workbooks for schoolchildren. Of these funds, 435.5 billion soums (or 36 percent) were allocated for training notebooks, the frequency of which is 1 year and is published annually.

In 2025, a total of 1.3 trillion soums were fully covered from the State budget for 81 million copies of textbooks and workbooks.

In 2026, it is projected that 1 trillion 985 billion soums will be allocated to provide general education schools with textbooks, workbooks, and teaching aids, and at the expense of these funds, it is planned to publish a total of 106.4 million textbooks, workbooks, and teaching aids for grades 1-11 and preparatory groups (37.4 million more than in 2025).

The funds provided for in the State Budget for 2026 will allow for the full coverage of the need to provide students with textbooks and workbooks in the new academic year.

Therefore, there will be no need to charge additional fees from parents for the rent of textbooks and workbooks.

According to the data, expenditures in this area increased from 66 billion soums in 2020 to 1 trillion 985 billion soums by 2026. This shows that spending has increased more than 30 times over the past six years.

In 2020 - 66 billion soums;

In 2021 - 180 billion soums;

In 2022 - 1 trillion 005 billion soums;

In 2023 - 1 trillion 006 billion soums;

In 2024 - 1 trillion 173 billion soums;

In 2025 - 1 trillion 300 billion soums;

In 2026 - 1 trillion 985 billion soums;

In 2027-2028, this indicator is projected to reach 2 trillion and 2.2 trillion soums, respectively.
