Two minors drowned in Fergana

Two minor brothers born in 2018 and 2020 died after falling into a water distribution reservoir in the Beshariq district of the Fergana region.

According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, who spoke to Darakchi.uz, the incident occurred on March 19 at around 8:05 p.m. in the Beshariq district of the Fergana region.

The minors, identified as Z.S., born in 2018, and S.Z., born in 2020, lived in the X.Olimjon mahalla. Due to negligence, they fell into a water distribution reservoir located in the “Buloqboshi” mahalla and died from drowning.

The scene was examined by an оперативно-investigative group, and the necessary procedural documents were prepared.

It was established that on March 19, S.Z. had been playing near the water distribution reservoir in the “Buloqboshi” mahalla. At some point, his toy fell into the water, and he climbed down to retrieve it. However, he lost control and drowned.

His older brother, Z.S., jumped into the water in an attempt to save him. As a result, both children drowned and died at the scene.

Later, when the boys did not return home, their father, X.Q., found them near the canal area. Emergency rescue personnel then recovered the bodies from the water.

An external examination of the bodies found no signs of injuries or violence.

According to the preliminary forensic medical report dated March 19, the cause of death of the two minors was mechanical asphyxia caused by water obstructing the respiratory tract.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Beshariq district is currently conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident, and the case is under supervision.
