Schools are allowed to use military training grounds

A Presidential decree "On measures to further develop and popularize shooting sports" (No. PP-381, 04.11.2024) has been signed. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.

According to the decree, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, practical classes on "Tactical and Technical Characteristics of Firearms and Pneumatic Sports Weapons" will be introduced in general secondary education institutions as part of the pre-conscription initial training curriculum. This means that schoolchildren will now undergo practical training in shooting.

In organizing these practical classes on the tactical and technical characteristics of firearms and pneumatic sports weapons, general secondary education institutions will be allowed to use, free of charge, the educational and material resources at the permanent locations of affiliated military units, institutions, and military training grounds.

It should be noted that earlier, when President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on improving the quality of music, physical education, and military-patriotic subjects in schools, it was announced that the position of pre-conscription primary training teacher would be transferred to the Ministry of Defense, and that military personnel from the Armed Forces reserves would now be hired for this role.
