On January 14, 1992, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan were established. On December 29, 1993, by a resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, January 14 was declared the "Day of Defenders of the Fatherland."
That is, January 14 is actually a holiday date, but this date is not part of non-working holidays. Therefore, January 14 is officially a working day for all institutions and organizations.
According to Article 208 of the Labor Code, the following dates are non-working holiday days:
- January 1 - New Year;
- March 8 - Women's Day;
- March 21 - Navruz holiday;
- May 9 - Remembrance and Honors Day;
- September 1 - Independence Day;
- October 1 - Teachers and Mentors Day;
- December 8 - Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- The first day of the religious holiday of Eid al-Fitr;
- The first day of the religious holiday of Eid al-Adha.
In conclusion, the winter vacation for schoolchildren, which began on December 29, 2024, has ended. From January 13, 2025, the lesson process will begin.
At the same time, on January 14, classes will be held as usual. Therefore, it is not necessary to make changes to the electronic (paper) journal.
