Responsibility for indecent behavior towards children will be strengthened.

A number of measures are being taken to protect children from various forms of violence. However, sometimes we hear about cases of harassment of children and underage girls on social networks or about various indecent images being sent to them via the Internet. From now on, responsibility for such cases will be strengthened.
At the meetings of the factions of political parties in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with Improving the System of Protection of Children from Violence" was widely discussed.
According to this draft law, liability is being strengthened for committing indecent acts using telecommunication networks or the Internet against a person under 16 years of age. Also, criminal liability is established for persons who repeatedly commit acts of possession of pornographic products depicting minors within a year.
The adoption of the draft law will strengthen guarantees for the protection of children from crimes against sexual freedom and child trafficking.
Moreover, this will serve to punish persons who have committed such crimes proportionally to their actions, as well as to establish public control over persons brought to administrative or criminal liability for non-payment of alimony.
