Hello, I had a question. The school principal is forcibly summoning my father, saying that a decision has been made to allow school staff to work on Sundays.

There is no such decision. On May 15, 2025, a videoconference chaired by the President, dedicated to reforms in the school education system, was held.


Priority tasks were defined for the introduction of modern approaches at all levels of education, the upbringing of youth, and the realization of their potential.


At the meeting, the head of state announced the "Urgent 90 Days" program aimed at meaningfully organizing the leisure time of young people.


According to the information received by us, at the same time, the regional departments of preschool and school education constantly give instructions that teachers and managers should not take vacation this year, and even on Sundays they should work according to the "Urgent 90 Days" program.


But this contradicts labor legislation


According to Article 209 of the Labor Code, working on weekends and non-working holidays is prohibited.


According to Article 210 of the Labor Code, it is not allowed to involve employees in work on weekends and non-working holidays without their consent. (except in exceptional cases)


If the employee agrees to work on a weekend, then, according to Art. 263 of the Labor Code, work on weekends or non-working holidays must be paid at least double the amount.


According to Art. 214 of the Labor Code, the employer is obliged to: provide employees with leave guaranteed by law, comply with the procedure for granting leave.


Because before the end of the working year, all school employees must go on vacation.


According to Article 49 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, violation of labor and labor protection legislation by an official entails the imposition of a fine from five to ten times the base calculation amount (up to 3,750,000 soums).
