Should the work done in awarding points for bonuses also be covered on the website?

Question

In Clause 7 of the bonus, assigned on the basis of Resolution 823, points were awarded for extracurricular work.

We included the activities in the plan at the beginning of the year, had them approved by the Ministry of Justice, and based on this, we conducted the event, placed the minutes and event excerpts in additional files, and also approved plans for working with gifted students.

However, the school's Working Group did not accept the measures. They say that events that are not covered on websites will not be accepted. Is this true?

Response

In Appendix No. 1 to the Regulation, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 30, 2019 No. 823, the criteria for assessing the activities of teachers, psychologists, and library staff are approved.

Clause 8 of this criterion indicates the amount of points awarded to pedagogical workers for extracurricular activities.

According to it, the teacher:

  • organized events aimed at stimulating creativity (such as photo exhibitions, handicrafts, musical and theatrical performances) - 5 points;

  • conducting additional classes (debat and storytelling clubs, school radio/newspaper/website, information and analytical classes) that teach students to think and broaden their horizons, giving them new skills - 10 points;

  • conducting activities that encourage students to explore (conducting additional classes with gifted and underperforming students, organizing public speaking events) - 15 points.

What documents should the teacher provide to prove the work done outside the classroom?

A brief summary (not more than 1 page) of the extracurricular activities conducted by the teacher and no more than two (2) photographs of this activity are provided.

Also, if the teacher made an extracurricular speech on the school radio, then his audio recording in electronic form (CD-DVD or other external storage devices), a copy of the article in the school newspaper is submitted to the working group as a supporting document.

If the school website is maintained by the teacher, then a supporting document is not required by the teacher and is determined independently by the working group.

What's confusing the Working Group here is running the school website.

It is known that some schools also have websites, which are maintained by pedagogical staff.

Therefore, Clause 8 of the assessment criteria provides for assigning points according to the bonus criteria for maintaining the school website as extracurricular activities.

It is completely wrong to interpret extracurricular activities in the sense that they should be covered on various websites to justify them.

As mentioned above, it is sufficient to provide brief information (no more than 1 page) about extracurricular activities and no more than two (2) photos of this activity.

Basis: the regulation approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 823 dated September 30, 2019, and the instruction letter of the Ministry of Public Education No. 02-02/3-1699 dated June 11, 2021.
