New virus spreads in kindergartens and schools in Russia
The Koksaki virus began to spread in kindergartens and schools in Russia. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
As it turned out, cases of the disease were recorded in Moscow and Vladimir regions, as well as in Krasnodar region. Parents are concerned that the infection may have been brought by tourists returning from Turkey.
In Vladimir, the mothers of children in one of the kindergartens said that they brought a virus child to their group, after which all three-year-old children fell ill.
Children initially developed ulcers in their mouths, and then they began to have rashes on their bodies. According to parents at a local hospital, doctors told them it was Coxsackie virus.
The virus also began to spread widely in the Krasnodar region. According to parents of sick children, at least one schoolboy was diagnosed with Coxsackie in the hospital.
"We live in Krasnodar region, there are many tourists here. My nephew was at an MMA tournament, maybe he got infected there. In our village, many children under the age of 11 have edemas on their limbs, fever, and something like stomatitis in their mouths," Krasnodar residents said.
