"If three students are diagnosed with a viral disease, the school will be closed to quarantine" - a representative of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee
"Viral hepatitis A," popularly known as the "yellow disease," is an acute infectious liver disease that affects about ten million people worldwide each year. Children of preschool and primary school age are more likely to suffer from this disease than others.
As you know, a case of viral hepatitis A - "yellow sickness" was recently detected in secondary schools No. 214 and No. 65 in the Mirabad district of Tashkent.
Dilfuza Hikmatova, head of the Tashkent city administration of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee, told Qalampir.uz that hepatitis A was registered in these schools for the third time since the beginning of the year and occurred in different classes in different incubation periods, not in one incubation period.
"The condition of the sick students is currently satisfactory, they are being treated by an infectious disease specialist. Currently, urgent measures are being taken in general education schools to prevent the disease, and necessary instructions are being given to eliminate the shortcomings identified in schools on the spot," Dilfuza Hikmatova said.
In what cases will the school be closed to quarantine?
When asked whether schools will be closed due to the spread of yellow disease, the expert said that in such a case, schools will not be closed for quarantine, only if more than three students are registered with viral diseases in one class, lessons in that class can be transferred to online.
To prevent "yellow fever," doctors provide the following recommendations:
- vaccination;
- adherence to personal hygiene rules;
- not to eat in antisanitary conditions;
- it is recommended to eat well-washed or heat-treated food, boiled water, and so on.
School kitchens
If we talk about the situation in school kitchens, of course, the sale of prohibited products, for example, can lead to the development of chronic diseases of students, that is, the development of gastrointestinal diseases and diseases.
For example, we say you can't drink energy drinks, why? This can lead to the development of the same cardiovascular and nervous system diseases. Or, various kinds of "kresh cakes," "chips," instant food, fry cooked products cause cancer.
What measures will be taken if a viral disease is detected in the school?
The head of the department of the Tashkent city administration of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee also discussed the measures taken by the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee in case of detection of viral diseases in schools.
"Regarding the issue raised on social networks, it should be briefly noted that these are measures taken daily by our daily specialists. That is, for example, in the event of receiving an urgent notification from a school about the detection of an infectious disease, we will conduct an extraordinary examination.
That is, whether it is a general education school or a preschool educational institution, our epidemiologists will conduct an epidemiological survey in cooperation with our sanitary doctors. The main purpose of this is to prevent the spread of the disease to other students.
We will go there and develop immediate, urgent measures in educational institutions. Thirty-five days of quarantine will be opened for healthcare workers, and students who are not vaccinated will be registered there, mainly those who are not vaccinated against hepatitis A.
Immediate blood tests of these unvaccinated pupils, disinfection of classrooms, organization of a detergent reserve, in general, these issues are always considered, but in case of illness, a separate screening is carried out on the spot. Now it's a little frightening here, but it's not.
Therefore, if more than three cases are detected in educational institutions at the same time, quarantine will be announced, and the educational activities of this educational institution will be temporarily transferred to online. So, such a case has not yet been registered," Dilfuza Hikmatova said.
