It is known that starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, a new teaching and knowledge assessment procedure was introduced in 500 general education schools. Beginning from the 2024-2025 academic year, two additional schools were assigned to each of these schools, expanding the coverage of the new system to 1,500 schools.

From the current academic year, a system was also introduced to provide up to 40% bonus to the tariff rate for management and teachers of general secondary schools that have effectively implemented the new teaching and knowledge assessment procedure and whose students have shown positive results.

This assessment system, called "Criteria-Based," was previously implemented and tested in Presidential, creative, and specialized schools under the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions.

After the introduction of the new assessment system in 1,500 schools, some teachers and parents began to raise various objections about the shortcomings of this system.

Komil Jalilov, an expert on education issues, reported that social media users and parents dissatisfied with the new assessment system have sent an appeal to the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Hilola Umarova.

According to the applicants, the response sent by the ministry will also be made public.

For reference: Earlier, Komil Jalilov, an expert on education issues, in his article published in the newspaper "Ma'rifat" No. 42 dated November 6, 2024, explained that for a criterion-based assessment system to fulfill its tasks, it must meet the scientific requirements of testology. It should provide participants in the education system and stakeholders (teachers, students, parents, school administration, ministry) with valid information that allows them to accurately analyze students' achievements and problems in education.
