It is known that in the 2024-2025 academic year, a new assessment procedure was introduced in 1,500 schools in our country, and at the same time, the level of knowledge of students in these educational institutions is assessed on the basis of this system.

The Ministry of Preschool and School Education answered some questions from teachers and parents regarding the new assessment system.

Question 1:

We are receiving CHSB test questions through different social media pages, but we are observing various discrepancies and ambiguities in these questions. What is the reason for this?

To assess the knowledge of schoolchildren, a new assessment system has been introduced, standard test questions have been developed by the Scientific and Practical Center for Pedagogical Mastery and International Assessment and posted on the e-maktab.uz platform of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

We ask teachers and parents to download sample test questions for all subjects on the new assessment system only from the e-maktab.uz platform. Reports about the correctness of questions on other types of information channels and social media pages are not true.

Question 2:

What is the amount of paper and printing costs spent on exams? Does this require funds from parents?

Answer: No, parents are not required to pay.

According to the relevant order of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education dated October 17, 2024, the first and second quarter exams of 2024 will be organized online through the e-maktab.uz platform in 168 schools in the city of Tashkent, Khorezm and Tashkent regions, where a new assessment system has been introduced, and in the remaining 1,332 schools - in a traditional way.

Paper products allocated for 582 schools (6,400 packages), where traditional examinations are held, will be covered at the expense of the Fund for the Promotion of Reforms in the Field of Education under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education. Also, the control materials of these schools will be printed on printer devices specially allocated to the territorial departments.

The control materials allocated to the remaining 750 schools are published in the Gafur Ghulam Publishing and Printing Creative House under the Ministry in the prescribed manner. Parents cannot be required to pay for these expenses.

Question 3:

Is it true that my child's exam scores will decrease if he participates in the tests again on the day of the exam because he is sick?

The answer: This is detailed in the "Procedure for introducing a criterion-based assessment system into general secondary schools," approved by the relevant order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education dated August 7, 2024.

According to it, the tests will be conducted separately for students who were unable to participate in the evaluation process due to valid reasons (disease, death of one of their close relatives, participation in various Olympiads and competitions). In this case, students are assigned points based on the current assessment criteria (maximum 40 points).

The maximum score of students who did not participate in the assessment for unjustified reasons, were excluded from the process for violating internal regulations, or scored below 12 points cannot exceed 26 points.
