How much salaries representatives of the education sector received in 2024 became known

The Statistics Agency has provided statistics on the most and least-paid representatives of the industry as of January-December 2024. Meanwhile, the average salary of Uzbeks in 2024 amounted to 5.3 million soums.

When comparing average monthly wages by type of activity, representatives of the education sector ranked lowest (by one level higher than the medical sector). Meanwhile, their average monthly salary amounted to 3,637,000 soums.

In January-December 2024, the highest average monthly salary by type of economic activity was in the banking, insurance, leasing, credit and intermediary activities, which amounted to 15,263.7 thousand soums.

According to the main sectors of the education sector, the highest average monthly salary was observed in higher education (8 562.1 thousand soums), and the lowest in preschool education (1 963.3 thousand soums).

The highest average monthly salary was observed in the city of Tashkent (6 091.2 thousand soums), Namangan (3 591.6 thousand soums) and Tashkent (3 591.2 thousand soums) regions. The highest growth rates were recorded in the city of Tashkent (111.5%) and Namangan region (117.3%).

For information, about 6,000 teachers in Uzbekistan are currently receiving a salary of 10 million soums. This represents 1 percent of the total teaching staff.

For reference: Starting from October 1, 2024, the salary of teachers working in budget organizations has been increased by 15%. In general, the salaries of teachers were increased by 5% compared to the salaries of employees of other budget organizations.

Also, starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, the salaries of directors and deputy directors of schools and preschool educational institutions are expected to be increased.
