Starting from the new academic year, the subject "Informatics and information technologies" is taught for 1 hour per week in the 2nd grade of general secondary schools. Last year, this subject was introduced for 1st grade students.
In grades 1-2, "Informatics and information technologies" is taught by primary school teachers because it is based on the development of students' logical thinking.
This is provided for in the basic curriculum for the 2024-2025 academic year for general secondary schools, approved by the order of the Minister of Pre-school and School Education No. 94 dated March 3, 2024.
Also, by this order of the minister, teaching of "Science" will be started in the 5th grade. This subject is taught for 1 hour in grades 1-2, 2 hours in grades 3-5, and 3 hours in grade 6.
"Science" is taught by primary school teachers in primary grades, and by teachers of "Physics", "Biology", "Geography" in grades 5-6.
In this case, the lesson hours of this subject are distributed based on the sequence of indicators specified in paragraph 15 of the regulation on the procedure for the completion of classes and the formation of tariff lists in general education institutions (registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 30, 2020, list number 3271).
