$55,000 for heading "RayONO," $1,000 for teaching: Verdict issued for those attempting to secure jobs through bribery

According to Kun.uz, the chairman of the mahalla in Navoi, who tried to get a job as a teacher at a school for $1,000, and the director of the "Barkamol Avlod" children's school, who promised to place him in the position of the head of "RayONO" in Kashkadarya for $55 thousand, were sentenced to criminal punishment.

The director of the "Barkamol Avlod" children's school in Kokdala district, Kh.I. (woman), was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He was accused of fraud and bribery.

According to the court verdict studied by Kun.uz, 42-year-old Kh.I., who has been working as the director of the "Barkamol Avlod" children's school in Kokdala district since June 2, 2022, aimed to obtain someone else's money fraudulently.

For this purpose, he entered the trust of a person working as the deputy director for educational affairs of secondary school No. 12 in Karshi district and through his acquaintance, who works at a high position in the field of education, gave false promises about placing him in the position of head of the preschool and school education department of Yakkabag district.

Kh.I. demanded $55,000 in return. He also received 4 million soums from the deputy director in exchange for receiving the "Best Publication" scientific research and youth support center's "Best services" commemorative badge.

On February 11, 2024, he was caught in an operative event held in the "Sayyor" cafe in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city when he obtained $30,000 out of $55,000 agreed for the "RayONO" manager from the deputy director.

Kh.I. did not confess to the charges against him and asked the court to issue an acquittal against him. But his act was proved by the testimony of witnesses.

By the verdict of the court, Kh.I. was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in Article 25,168, Part 4, Clause "a" and Article 28,211 Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code.

He was sentenced to 6 years and 2 months of imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to work in official positions in organizations with state participation for a period of 1 year. The precautionary measure in the form of bail applied to Kh.I. was changed and he was detained in the courtroom.

The chairman of the Bahor mahalla in Navoi city, I.Z. (male), asked a friend for $1,000 to get him a job as a teacher in one of the schools in the city through a friend from the khokimiyat. The chairman was arrested during an operative event when he received 5.6 million soums from the agreed amount.

I.Z. pleaded guilty in court, stating that he needed to take medication because his health deteriorated, and that he took it for this purpose, and said that he regretted his actions and asked the court for relief.

According to the verdict of the court, I.Z. was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in part 1 of Article 25, 168 and part 1 of Article 28,211 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison.

The chairman of the mahalla was imposed additional restrictions on not leaving his house between 22:00 and 6:00, not going to restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, discos, not drinking alcoholic beverages, not leaving the territory of Navoi region.
