A senator's inquiry was sent regarding certain problems identified in schools.

Senator Malika Kadirkhanova, who works on a permanent basis in the Senate Committee on Youth, Women's, Culture and Sports Issues, sent a senator's inquiry to the Tashkent regional administration regarding some problematic situations identified in general secondary educational institutions in the Tashkent region.

This was reported by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that, despite the ongoing systemic reforms to develop the general secondary education system and create modern and safe conditions for students, there are still unresolved issues related to the material and technical condition and infrastructure of schools in some regions.

In particular, the area between secondary school No. 10, located in the "Oppoq" mahalla citizens' assembly of the city of Nurafshan, and the residential area is not fenced.

The 900-meter border section of the school, adjacent to the population, is open, which causes damage to the trees and ornamental saplings planted on the school grounds.

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PP-241 of May 12, 2022, in order to ensure the safety of general secondary educational institutions, it is entrusted to the khokimiyats of the regions to enclose their territories and take other necessary measures.

In addition, secondary school No. 21, located in the "Ibrat" mahalla of the Zangiata district, does not have a gym for students.

The school's gym was demolished based on the decision of the Zangiata district governor dated January 26, 2017, and a new gym has not been built for seven years. As a result, physical education classes are not conducted in full.

Based on the foregoing, the senator, in accordance with Article 15 of the Law "On Parliamentary Control," asked the responsible organizations to provide a reasoned explanation regarding the measures being taken to ensure the safety of students by fencing around School No. 10 in the city of Nurafshan and the construction of a sports facility necessary for physical education classes at School No. 21 in the Zangiata district.
